Chapter 11
Joey waited until sheâd drifted into a sated snooze before sliding his thumb from her body. He kissed her inner thigh, before he shifted off the bed quietly, not wanting to wake her. He transferred to his chair, rolling himself to the bathroom to wash his hands. A splash of cold water over his face did nothing to calm him, the icy freshness only sharpened his already heightened state. Ah, well, there was only one way to cure this. He grabbed his cock, the image of Ella splayed on his bed, completely giving herself to him full in his mind, and wanked until he came in great spurts onto his stomach. After a moment or few, he grabbed a cloth to clean himself up, before rolling back into his bedroom.
Ella hadnât moved. She lay on his bed, with her legs wide in relaxation, soft snores humming from her lips. He smiled. That was a sight to store away forever. It wasnât until he got closer that he noticed the gooseflesh on her skin. He spun around, racing back to the bathroom to grab a blanket from the linen cupboard. He blew a short breath out the side of his mouth. Why was he rushing? She wouldnât notice if he threw a warm blanket on her in one minute or two. She might notice if he got the damned thing stuck in his wheels and tipped himself out because he didnât take half a moment to be sensible. He gathered the blanket in his arms, rolled over to her, and flung it across her, before turning to grab his shirt off the floor where it had been thrown earlier this afternoon. The sun that had streamed in his windows earlier had faded as dusk settled over the sea. Evenings like this made him wonder what it would be like to sit on the west coast, over in Perth, and watch the sun set over the ocean. He loved the sunrise each morning, never bothering to cover the windows at night so the sun would wake him naturally. Those disused blinds were drawn over the windows on rare occasions, when he was in this room on those blindingly hot summer days when the sun glowed almost white hot in the sky. Those were the days he closed the blinds to keep the room cool.
Ellaâs breathy snores rid the room of silence, filling it with a soft musicality. She intrigued him with the way she blew hot and cold. One moment, staunch and bold, the next indecisive and wary. He shouldn't want to know more, to understand her, but he couldn't help himself. He wanted to find out why she hovered, uncertain at times, and help her find the bravery and confidence she exhibited in sex, and at work. He tapped his finger on his chin. It was only when they talked about her that she shrank away and hid from him. She stirred, curling herself under the blanket.
His stomach growled. He took the lift down a level to grab a snack, leaving her to snooze.
